Photography and styling for Seekers Gin
Atelier is a artisan pepper brand based in Kampot, Cambodia. Through its plantation, boutique and bistro, Atelier aims to promote Kampot pepper in Cambodia, and abroad.
David and Antoine Meinnel, the founders of Atelier approached us to help visualise the brand. We worked closely with them developing branding, packaging, collateral and food and interior photography. Our aim was to create not just another pepper brand, but a lifestyle brand. A brand that challenged the way people traditionally think about pepper.
The visual identity pays homage to the Kampot region and the history of pepper production and cultivation in Cambodia. Through its visuals, the brand's narrative pays respect to the past, while maintaining a sense of modernity and refinement. The logo features a hand-drawn illustration of the Atelier shophouse, a lovingly restored 1945 building in Kampot. For the packaging we took a minimalist approach, using kraft paper bags with minimal design to really allow the pepper to shine. The result was something considered, intentional and artisanal, much like the brand itself.
